2021 | Salisbury North Carolina | Sculptural Object

Inspired by Frank Jacobus’ drawing Relax You Square, COLLECTS is a totem--a volumetric container for a diverse community of forms, symbols and shapes. Abstract elements interact and engage one another creating figures that resemble characters in a unique language. The 18”x 18”x 72” sculpture is fabricated from reclaimed local hardwood that is CNC carved to created a subtle bas relief. The wood is painted white at the outer-most profiles to make the two dimensional graphic quality of a drawing legible against a sculptural monolith.
